چکیده
Three main approaches on how audio signals can be used as input to a deep learning model are: extracting hand-crafted features from signals, mapping into appropriate images such spectrogram-like ones, and using directly raw signals. Among these approaches, the usage of represents compromise regarding bias enforced by processing (seen in features) computational demands signals). When any is input, then different techniques for image become available implemented. They include assessing similarity, implementing matching, recognition. The topic this paper similarity obtained DC motor sounds. In that respect, relevant measures are first reviewed, one them - Pearson correlation coefficient applied evaluating within same class between two classes images.

Quantifying colocalization by correlation: the Pearson correlation coefficient is superior to the Mander's overlap coefficient.
The Pearson correlation coefficient (PCC) and the Mander's overlap coefficient (MOC) are used to quantify the degree of colocalization between fluorophores. The MOC was introduced to overcome perceived problems with the PCC. The two coefficients are mathematically similar, differing in the use of either the absolute intensities (MOC) or of the deviation from the mean (PCC). A range of correlate...
متن کاملA new method to evaluate the similarity of chromatographic fingerprints: weighted pearson product-moment correlation coefficient.
The Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient is being used to evaluate the similarity of the high-performance liquid chromatographic fingerprints of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) in China. It is confirmed that a large range of peak areas produced the wrong results. A new algorithm concerning weighted Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient is proposed in this article. The resu...
متن کاملA new consensus measure based on Pearson correlation coefficient
Obtaining consensual solutions is an important issue in decision making processes. It depends on several factors such as experts’ opinions, principles, knowledge, experience, etc. In the literature we can find a considerable amount of consensus measurement from different research areas (from a Social Choice perspective: Alcalde-Unzu and Vorsatz [1], Alcantud, de Andrés Calle and Cascón [2] and ...
متن کاملTitle The Phi - coefficient , the Tetrachoric Correlation Coefficient , and the Pearson - Yule Debate
Two measures of association for dichotomous variables, the phi-coefficient and the tetrachoric correlation coefficient, are reviewed and differences between the two are discussed in the context of the famous so-called Pearson-Yule debate, that took place in the early 20th century. The two measures of association are given mathematically rigorous definitions, their underlying assumptions are for...
متن کاملSimilarity analysis between chromosomes of Homo sapiens and monkeys with correlation coefficient, rank correlation coefficient and cosine similarity measures
In this paper, we consider correlation coefficient, rank correlation coefficient and cosine similarity measures for evaluating similarity between Homo sapiens and monkeys. We used DNA chromosomes of genome wide genes to determine the correlation between the chromosomal content and evolutionary relationship. The similarity among the H. sapiens and monkeys is measured for a total of 210 chromosom...
